To Whom It May Concern

I'm back in AL. Made it back in pretty good time. 10 hours at a leisurely pace.

Had a wonderful vacation. Truly a much-needed break. We got to see our puppies last night. My parents brought them over, along with some milk, eggs, cheese, and cereal.

Didn't do a lot before bed, except check my home email and social networking sites for anything major.

Woke up at 10 til 9, got my shower, dressed, grabbed a banana and my ipod, and skidded into the garage. Checked my oil (hadn't driven my car in over a week) and it was still full. Good. One less thing to have to do. Jumped in the driver's seat, simultaneously plugged up my ipod and turned the key. There was a short delay. Then it became longer. Then I realized I had no power whatsoever. Checked my lights. Off. Checked my dome light. Set to door. Went inside and got Megan to get her keys and we jumped off the car. Pulled out of the driveway, and noticed my dome light was on. Looked over and noticed the automatic seatbelt on the passenger side hadn't retracted. I reached over and gave the door a pull, and it latched into place. Good. Better that than an unknown electrical problem that only manifests itself after a week of sitting undriven. I ate my banana and threw the peel out the window by the SDA church. Got to work at around 9:30. Not bad all things considered.

Had just finished watching the BIOS POST and grabbed a styrofoam cup of coffee (left my mug at home) with lots of cream and sugar (the coffee here is not good without copious amounts) when I heard Chris saying: "Mike _____ will be here to talk about _____ in 20 minutes." I printed as much info as I thought I'd need, skimmed the rest of my inbox, downed the last of my first cup of coffee, went and poured another. Black this time. No time to add creamer. Went into the room, and starting writing down everything I could. I hope it's intelligible later.

Jamie and Melissa were my development team for this task, but (now that it's official) Jamie's leaving to work for another corporation, so it's just her and me. I'm supposed to meet with Melissa and go over something she was working on last week while I was gone, but I've just now caught up on all my email (and ok, Livejournal) and grabbed some lunch from the cafeteria. Butter beans, mac 'n cheese, and mashed taters. I only had $4, and the vegetables are $1.45 each, so I had to embarrassingly ask for 35 cents from a nice woman in line behind me. She didn't mind at all, though the cashier at the register was surly and rather unsympathetic to my predicament.

I found out I love butter beans. These don't taste vegetarian, as there's definitely a slight pork flavor to them. Now to finish my lunch and then get back to the task at hand.

Welcome back. I'm glad you didn't float away.

That's the southern way. Put in a hunk of pig and any vegetable is palatable.
